A Case of Osteoma at the Tongue Base
Lee Keun-Seok

Abstract
Soft tissue osteoma is a rare entity. The lesion has a strong predilection for the head and neck region, mainly in the posterior part of the tongue.
Osteomas are characterized by slow and progressive growth and are usually not associated with symptoms other than those related to the general feeling of a mass lesion. These tumors are benign and not associated with malignant degeneration and histologic studies can confirm the diagnosis. Surgical excision is the treatment of choice and recurrence has not been reported following surgical removal. Now we report this case with a review of literature.
